Length of Course:

8 hours: 3 Hours classroom - 4 Hours Range Qualification (Additional time may be desirable in order for students to develop skills before moving on to the next lesson.)

The Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook. (Provided with class materials.)

Course Lessons:

Lesson I: Pistol Knowledge and Safe Gun Handling

Lesson II: Ammunition Knowledge and the Fundamentals of Pistol Shooting

Lesson III: Firing the First Shots

Lesson IV: Two-Handed and One-Handed Standing Shooting Positions

Lesson V: Pistol Sports and Activities

Equipment requirements:

-Semi-automatic pistol or revolver

-3 magazines for semi-automatic pistol or 3 speed loaders for a revolver

- Holster and magazine pouch for semi-automatic pistol or holster and speed loader pouch for revolver

- 300 rounds of factory ammunition

-Ear protection, eye protection, comfortable clothing including tennis shoes or hiking boots, sunscreen, Lunch and Water.
