About The Event

The NRA Basic Personal Protection series is based on the building block approach,

moving from the simple to the complex.

NRA Basic Personal Protection in the Home Course, which builds on the skills already learned.

i.e. Introduction to Basic Pistol

NRA Basic Personal Protection in the Home Course participants must be

experienced shooters (shooters able to perform the basic skills of safe

gun handling, shooting a group, zeroing the firearm, and cleaning the firearm)

This is to maximize what can be learned from this course.

Proof of shooting experience can be one of the following:

  • ACCWFT Introduction to Basic Pistol Certificate
  • NRA Basic Pistol Course Certificate,
  • NRA First Steps Course Certificate,

Description:

Students learn how to respond to a violent confrontation, and strategies for home protection and safety.

Specific state firearms and home defense laws are taught by the instructor authorized in Arizona to understand how to engage in Police Officer interaction and how to obtain Firearms Defensive Insurance.

NRA's Basic Personal Protection in the Home course is for law-abiding adult citizens, as defined by applicable federal, state, or local law.

It is much more than just a routine shooting course. It is important that participants have

sufficient maturity and life experiences to be able to assess various situations and

make mature decisions.

The NRA Basic Personal Protection series is based on the building block approach,

moving from the simple to the complex.

NRA Basic Personal Protection in the Home Course, which builds on the skills already learned.

i.e., Introduction to Basic Pistol.

Students will be given a 25-question test to be completed by the group. No

minimum passing score is required, and all the wrong answers will be reviewed in class and corrected for passing grade.
