Service Description

Close Quarters Defense 101 CQD101 CQD abides a series of tenets, the most critical of which is teaching participants how to control their emotions and reactions under extreme stress. They call it “DIALING” and whether you’re under fire from a gun-wielding Perpetrator or Fighting off an “ATTACKER” it involves essentially the same measures: remaining in control, and, critically, identifying your purpose within a split second. It’s as important for you to be able to dial up intensity as it is for you to dial it down, and the simulations I just recounted are meant to create muscle memory that you can carry with you beyond the course, whether you’re defending your family or yourself. The principles of CQD are simple to learn. They rely on kinetics and physics and have a basis in various martial arts disciplines. And they work. Although you do not need to have Martial Arts experience to attend these courses. "Only a desire to protect yourself." Course Objective: The idea of striking an adversary seems to be a simple matter. They attack you, and you throw a punch in reply. This is an oversimplification of effective technique. If you are going to hit something, strike through it. To make contact with the surface and stop will result in a less-than-effective strike. By striking as if you are aiming at a point beyond your initial contact, you will get much deeper penetration into your target. Additionally, you are taught to strike with your entire body. A relaxed body concentrated behind a punch or kick allows the transfer of much more energy into the subject. This is essential for those who may not possess great strength or size. Unless an attacker or mugger threatens you with a gun, most instances where self-defense is necessary will be up close and personal. Learning Close Quarters Defense moves is essential to protecting yourself in these dangerous situations. It can help you defend yourself quickly when in close quarters. Then “Escape and Evade” The basic "Heel Punches" a heel punch is used by the heel portion of your hand. The following you will learn for CQD include: Jab Hook Punch Cross Punch Uppercut Eye Gouge Also, you will learn how to incorporate your Legs, Knees and Hips for "Striking". Duration: This is a 4-hour Seminar Classroom Evolution You will receive an ACCWFT certificate. $300 first student / $175 additional student -2 student min - max 6 students A 20% Surcharge will be accessed for single student sign up.
